Education
From
preschool through adulthood, Temple Beth Shalom serves as a source of
learning. Our goal is for each student to gain an understanding of our
religion and heritage, to foster in each child a sense of his or her own
Jewish identity and to enrich Jewish family life.
The highly acclaimed preschool
Mishpacha is for four- and five-year-olds and their parents to discover the
joys of Jewish holidays and customs.
Our religious school offers the
foundation of a Jewish education in reading, writing, history, culture and
religion. Children from six to twelve attend classes on Wednesday afternoons
and Sunday mornings.
Students are prepared for their Bar
and Bat Mitzvahs under the guidance of trained teachers and our Rabbi.
Young men and women who choose to
study beyond their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs may continue their education in a
class led by the Rabbi. This three-year program consists of education,
community service and assistance in the religious school.
Even the adults have the opportunity
to attend classes. As the adult education program expands, members of our
congregation are offering classes of interest in areas of their expertise.
